Council is excited to share the 2022-2025 Town of Okotoks Strategic Plan, approved at their September 26 meeting and providing Council’s strategic directions.
“The decisions made by Council during their four-year term have a long-term impact on the community,” said Mayor Thorn. “Council has worked tirelessly to ensure that Okotoks remains a fiscally sustainable community while creating a foundational plan that allows our vibrant community to thrive.”
The 2022-2025 Strategic Plan encompasses Council’s priorities developed in consultation with residents, and reflects Council's commitment to deliver services that are in the best interest of Okotoks' citizens today and citizens of tomorrow.
Administration uses this information to plan and prioritize initiatives in the Corporate Business Plan and to inform the proposed budget. The 2022- 2025 Strategic Plan will be reviewed in 2024.
Strategic planning is about making the best use of resources, about providing clear direction to Administration and about being transparent with the community. The 2022-2025 Strategic Plan was created after Council took time to collectively provide input during strategic planning sessions.
Council’s strategic directions for the next four years include: responsibly managed growth, strong local economy, enhanced culture & community health and demonstrated environmental leadership. Administration has added organizational excellence to the Strategic Plan as a foundation to achieving Council’s priorities.
Each strategic direction outlines specific priorities that Council would like to advance during their term. Environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities will be taken into consideration as policies and plans are developed and decisions are made in alignment with the Plan.
