Okotoks Town Council approves new sponsorship policy

The Town of Okotoks announces its new sponsorship policy, which was approved at the regular Council meeting on October 23.

The introduction of this sponsorship policy marks an excellent opportunity for the Town to create mutually beneficial partnerships with community members and businesses seeking sponsor recognition and advertising. By leveraging municipal assets such as recreation facilities, town events and publications, the costs of maintaining municipal assets and services can be offset in exchange for the participating sponsors to receive recognition and awareness of their support and involvement in the community.

“We’re really excited to bring this policy forward because it allows us to leverage important town facilities and assets to create invaluable partnerships and connections in our community,” said Christa Michailuck, parks & recreation director at Town of Okotoks. “These innovative partnerships reaffirm the Town’s commitment to responsibly managed growth and enhancing community dialogue.”

The policy establishes a structured framework to make collaboration opportunities transparent and accessible to potential sponsors. Additionally, it outlines the municipal assets that are available for sponsorship, advertising, and naming opportunities.
